About Jimmy Castano
Born to a circus family Jimmy Santos Castano Egred begins performing at the age of 10. His first act, a slack wire act, went for six months before returning to school in Quito, Ecuador. While in high school in Bogota, Colombia he learns to play the guitar and joins the school chorus. After high school at age 17 he begins to experiment with a trick bicycle act that was to take him to perform in over 40 countries.
1989 while performing in Indonesia he discovers his passion for songwriting, during the next 20 plus years he sings at various places as a guest artist around the world and pens well over a thousand songs during this time and self produces his first two albums, Volume 1 and Volume 2. In 2010 he arrives back in Australia and decides to finally dedicate his live to singing.
‘The Courier Mails’ Sunday magazine, June 18th 2011 wrote an article on Jimmy and a related video that stood at number 1 as the most watched video at news.com for two straight weeks.
